Visual Development

So it's been awhile, but here is some of my work from Visual Development last semester. Theme=Wizard of Oz.

My flying monkey piece was just accepted into the LCAD Juried Student Show. So that's pretty neat.

Here's my colored Griffin...have a happy thanksgiving everyone.

Griffin

I'm doing a Griffin right now in Character Design. Here are a couple of my iterations...


My teacher said this was too parrot like


This was a step in the right direction although I needed to work on my shapes and the beak still looked to parrotish.


Finally Lou approved my griffin so I started to color it


Here's my rough color to give me a sense of my palette.

Character Design

Right now I'm taking Character Design. We are assigned a theme, then we pick a reference artist who we will study and emulate. This semester's theme is the Chronicles of Narnia and I chose Mark Behm, an animator from the bay area, as my artist.

I started with Mr. Beaver


Then moved on to Mr. Tumnus


The last character I did was the Professor
